Historic NBA Milestone: Alex Antetokounmpo Unites with Brothers Giannis and Thanasis on Bucks Roster

A significant milestone is set to unfold during the 2025-26 NBA season.

As reported by Shams Charania, the Milwaukee Bucks are bringing Alex Antetokounmpo on board with a two-way contract. This historic move will see Alex joining his brothers, Giannis and Thanasis, marking the first occasion in NBA history that three brothers hold active roster contracts with a single team.

The news comes through Octagon’s Alex Saratsis, who informed ESPN that the Milwaukee Bucks have finalized the signing of Alex Antetokounmpo on a two-way deal. This unprecedented scenario makes history as three siblings will be active on the same NBA team’s roster.

Just last week, Alex Antetokounmpo was released by Aris Betsson and was anticipated to return to the G League. Should this deal go through, it wouldn’t be his first stint with the Wisconsin Herd, the G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, as he previously played there for two seasons from 2022 to 2024. Following a period without any appearances in the NBA, he has played for multiple European clubs, including Mažeikiai in 2024, Podgorica in 2024, PAOK from 2024 to 2025, and Aris in 2025. However, this time around, the two-way contract offers him the chance to make his NBA debut, potentially allowing fans to witness three out of four Antetokounmpo brothers on the court simultaneously.
