The upcoming 2025-26 NBA season is poised to be historic.
As reported by Shams Charania, the Milwaukee Bucks are set to ink Alex Antetokounmpo to a two-way contract. This groundbreaking move will make it the first occurrence in NBA history where three brothers—Giannis, Thanasis, and Alex—are all part of the same team’s active roster.
Alex Antetokounmpo is officially joining the Milwaukee Bucks on a two-way NBA deal, as disclosed by Octagon’s Alex Saratsis to ESPN. This development is significant as it marks the unprecedented event of three siblings holding active contracts with the same franchise.
Last week, Alex was let go by Aris Betsson and was anticipated to return to the G League. Should this agreement be finalized, it wouldn’t be Alex’s initial stint with the Wisconsin Herd, the Bucks’ G League affiliate, as he previously played there for two seasons from 2022 to 2024. After not making an appearance in any NBA games, he competed with several European teams, including Mažeikiai in 2024, Podgorica in 2024, and PAOK and Aris in 2024-2025. However, this time around, the two-way contract offers him a real opportunity to make his NBA debut, potentially allowing fans to witness three of the four Antetokounmpo brothers play on the court simultaneously.
