Giannis Antetokounmpo gave his inaugural interview with a non-sports media outlet in Greece, reiterating his dream of concluding his basketball journey in his homeland.
During his appearance on “2night show,” a Greek version of American late-night programs, Giannis shared his thoughts about the final chapter of his career with clarity.
He stated, “At 30, I have the potential to play in the NBA until I’m 36 or 38. I would love to finish my career with a Greek team; why not? I don’t see myself living in America. Once I step away from the NBA, my intention is to return to Greece. I could retire here, regardless of whether it’s with Filathlitikos, Olympiacos, Panathinaikos, or Aris—I’m open to all the teams.”
Additionally, Giannis expressed his wish to raise his family in Greece, despite recent misinformation regarding his wife and children relocating to Athens. He also spoke fondly of his family and his wife, Mariah.
Regarding Mariah, Giannis shared that his mother’s approval was instrumental to their marriage.
He mentioned that Mariah was initially resistant to his advances, but he persisted in his pursuit.
