Luka Dončić and the Los Angeles Lakers wrapped up their preseason with a close 116–117 loss to the Sacramento Kings, finishing with a record of 1–5 in their exhibition matches as they head into the regular season.
The Slovenian superstar showcased yet another impressive outing, scoring 31 points and dishing out nine assists. Following the game, he shared his thoughts on the team’s current state and the areas that require improvement as they approach the 2025/26 season.
“Clearly, practices have a different intensity. I believe we are more physical during practice. As I mentioned, we need to enhance our physicality,” Luka stated during the post-game press conference.
He also emphasized that there are still aspects to refine, particularly with LeBron James currently out due to injury.
“There will be times when we have a smaller lineup and other times when we field a larger one. There are details to work on — especially concerning our physical play,” he noted.
The Los Angeles Lakers are set to kick off their season against the Golden State Warriors on October 21.
