Doncic and Sengun Shine Bright, But Lakers and Rockets Fall Short in Season Openers

Slovenian basketball star Luka Doncic kicked off the season with an impressive performance, tallying 43 points, 12 rebounds, and nine assists. However, the Golden State Warriors managed to secure a victory against the Lakers on the road.

The game concluded with a score of 119-109, highlighted by Jimmy Butler’s contribution of 31 points and Steph Curry’s 23 points for the victorious team.

In the season’s opening matchup, the defending champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder, triumphed over the Rockets with a nail-biting score of 125-124 after two overtime periods.

Alperen Sengun, however, was the standout player, delivering a remarkable 39 points, along with 11 rebounds and seven assists, setting a personal best with five three-pointers made.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander responded for the Thunder with 35 points, while German center Isiah Hartenstein chipped in six points, nine rebounds, and five assists. For the losing side, alongside Sengun’s stellar effort, Kevin Durant added 23 points.
