According to the press release, “The 2025-26 NBA season has officially begun, and Netflix is deepening its exploration of basketball with a new endeavor documenting the celebrated career of Houston Rockets star forward Kevin Durant.
In collaboration with OBB Pictures, the film and television branch of OBB Media, and Boardroom, Netflix aims to produce the ultimate documentary series that showcases Durant’s life both on and off the court. The series will cover his early years in the Washington, D.C., and Maryland areas, his collegiate experience at the University of Texas, his immediate impact upon entering the NBA, and his contributions to Team USA in the Olympics.
Filming started before the 2023-24 NBA season, leading up to the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics—featured in the Netflix series “Court of Gold”—where he became the most decorated men’s basketball player in Olympic history. The production will continue during his first season with the Houston Rockets and will extend for years as he nears the conclusion of his Hall of Fame-worthy journey. Now in his 18th season in the NBA, Durant’s accolades include two NBA Championships, 15 All-Star selections, an MVP title, two Finals MVP awards, and four Olympic gold medals. He also holds the record for the highest career points scored by an American in Olympic competition and is the all-time leader in earnings in NBA history.”
