Filming began prior to the 2023-24 season and will extend throughout the ongoing 2025-26 season, as confirmed in a recent announcement.
The two-time NBA champion will recount the pivotal moments of his professional journey and what lies ahead.
Netflix is set to release a comprehensive documentary series that captures the essence of Kevin Durant’s extraordinary career.
Production for this series commenced before the 2023-24 season and will persist into the current season and beyond as he approaches the twilight of his compelling narrative.
As noted in the press announcement, “With the 2025–26 NBA season now underway, Netflix is expanding its exploration of basketball through a new project that highlights the illustrious career of Kevin Durant, star forward for the Houston Rockets.
In collaboration with OBB Pictures, the film and television division of OBB Media, and Boardroom, Netflix aims to create the ultimate documentary series that delves into Durant’s life, both on and off the court. This includes his early years in the Washington, DC, and Maryland areas, his college experience at the University of Texas, his immediate influence in the NBA, and his representation of the United States in Olympic competitions.
Filming started before the 2023-2024 season, leading up to the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics — events that are highlighted in the Netflix series Court of Gold, where he solidified his status as the most decorated men’s basketball player in Olympic history. Production will continue through his first season with the Rockets and into the future as he nears the end of his Hall of Fame career. Currently in his 18th season in the NBA, Durant boasts two NBA Championships, 15 All-Star selections, an NBA MVP award, two Finals MVP honors, and four Olympic gold medals. He is also recognized as the all-time leading scorer for Team USA in the Olympics and the highest career earner in NBA history.”
