Nikola Jokic Notches Another Triple-Double as Nuggets Dominate Suns in Home Opener

The Denver Nuggets triumphed over the Phoenix Suns with a score of 133-111 in their season opener at home, thanks to another stellar performance by Nikola Jokic.

The Joker recorded 15 assists, 14 rebounds, and 14 points on an efficient 5-of-8 shooting night.

Jokic has reached 166 career triple-doubles in the regular season, placing him third in history behind Russell Westbrook (203) and Oscar Robertson (181), with an additional 18 in the playoffs.

Jamal Murray contributed 23 points to the Nuggets’ victory, while Devin Booker led the Suns with 31 points.

Meanwhile, in Chicago, Josh Giddey put up 21 points and grabbed eight rebounds, as a Montenegrin big man added 15 points, helping the Chicago Bulls defeat the Orlando Magic 110-98.

Franz Wagner, the German Eurobasket champion, scored 17 points for the Magic.

The reigning NBA champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder, cruised to a comfortable 117-100 win against the shorthanded Atlanta Hawks.

Chet Holmgren led the Thunder with 31 points, while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 30. The Hawks were without Kristaps Porzingis (flu-like symptoms) and Zaccharie Risacher (right ankle sprain), both missing their second consecutive games.

In a closely contested match, Quentin Grimes hit a go-ahead three-pointer with just 14 seconds remaining, tallying 24 points, while Tyrese Maxey led the Philadelphia 76ers with 28 points to secure a 125-121 victory over the Charlotte Hornets.
