Milwaukee Bucks Fans Want Brook Lopez Traded After Watching Dallas Mavericks Destroy Timberwolves In WCF

Milwaukee Bucks fans have a lot of time on their hands right now. This is after their beloved Bucks got bounced in the opening round of the NBA Playoffs courtesy of Tyrese Haliburton and the Indiana Pacers.

The choice now is to completely abstain from basketball or to watch the other remaining teams in the postseason. For those that have opted for the latter, certain inferences have naturally popped up after witnessing the Dallas Mavericks make easy work of the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference Finals.

Milwaukee Bucks Urged to Trade Brook Lopez

Unfortunately for Bucks big man Brook Lopez, he has once again seen his name dragged into summer trade rumors. Milwaukee reporter Ti Windisch suggested that in order for the Bucks to achieve the same level of success the Mavs had this season, it would be in their best interest to move on from Lopez:

The more I watch the Mavs the more I buy into the idea the Bucks should move Brook Lopez and find a more athletic center.

I’m not even sure Gafford is that good but his mobility and bounce leads to so many free dunks in the space he plays in. And Lively has been great. Gimmie!

This also isn’t the first time Lopez has emerged as a trade candidate this summer. As the offseason progresses, it appears that the trade buzz is going to get louder and louder.

Mixed Reactions from Bucks Fans

It’s no secret that the Bucks are short on tradeable assets this summer. Lopez is one of the few players on the roster who still holds significant trade value — among those, of course, who the team could be willing to part ways with.

As such, more than a few Bucks fans believe that trading Lopez now would be the best move for Milwaukee:

I like the idea of a Lopez (& pick) for Wendell Carter trade that helps in this area while also shedding salary to get away from the 2nd apron. Not sure if Orlando has any motivation to move him though

— Jake Reetz (@jajareetz) May 31, 2024

I like this idea in theory, but how can they upgrade his position without any assets to attach?

no team is gonna trade someone for a better player straight up

— Betsey (@Betsycashmoney) May 31, 2024

I do agree and I have mentioned before that Lopez has looked old and his mobility is limited at best last year.

Brook although a great player in the past doesn’t look like that guy anymore
I dont see running him out there anymore either
Not personal
Brook was is a great Buck

We was tryna tell you brotha. At this point to hell with the whole stretch 5 thing. Get someone athletic whose capable of averaging double digit boards and adds some bounce to both sides. Brook going 2-8 from 30 feet out with 3 boards is not that valuable anymore

— J.U.S. (@JustinH18177122) May 31, 2024

At the same time, however, other supporters have argued that letting Lopez go could prove counter-productive for the team:

Bad take. Giannis is the athletic center/freak so you need to pair him with a shooter. Gafford and Lively would look horrible next to a non-shooting PF

— LA Bucks (@WisDemGov2018) May 31, 2024

The Bucks need to move Bobby and Pat first. Neither guy would play on this Mavs team.

— Wisconsin Nation (@Wisco___Nation) May 31, 2024

There’s no one available that fits that mold though, that’s the whole deal, unless you think one of the hornets 6 centers are real

— Socialist Bucks (@socialistbucks) May 31, 2024

Giannis doesn’t spread the floor like Doncic, Gafford fits what they do, just because it works for Dallas doesn’t mean it will for others. Besides Dame and Giannis should do those plays at will

— numbWIsportsfan (@RIPReggieK) May 31, 2024

Hard disagree with this. Y’all gotta get over the idea of trading Brook Lopez. It’s getting annoying at this point.

For what it’s worth, Lopez is now entering the final year of his current contract, so this will likely have an impact on Milwaukee’s decision on the former All-Star big man in the offseason.
