When you think of winning in the NBA, you think of Jerry West, he might be the most decorated figure in league’s history.

It’s not just the all-star teams, it’s not just the all NBA S. He didn’t win an MVP, but he might be the best player to have never won an MVP.

Jerry West was decorated as a front office executive for the Lakers.

He built them.

He made sure that Magic Johnson had running mates.

He made sure that Shaquille o’neal had a running mate out of high school named Kobe Bryant.

His fingerprints were all on the league, all on the Lakers and then on the Memphis Grizzlies and Golden State Warriors who became dynastic.

When he was an advisor, he told them he would quit if they traded a young Klay Thompson for Kevin love that one decision might have turned the Warriors into champions.

Jerry West was tortured by losing to the Celtics even though he won a finals MVP when they lost in a seven game series.

Jerry West was someone who the media loved to talk to.

He trusted us.

We trusted him.

Jerry West is one of those figures now with Bill Walton passing away with Bill Russell, passing away.

Another figure of institutional knowledge gone away.

Jerry West is 86 years old and was still an advisor for the L A Clippers.

Most recently this season, it didn’t seem like we would reach a point where Jerry West would leave us because the logo has always been a part of the NBA.

Hopefully the logo doesn’t change and hopefully we don’t forget the lasting impact Jerry West has had on this NBA.
