Pascal Siakam is sticking with the Indiana Pacers. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported Wednesday that Siakam “intends” to sign a four-year, $189.5 million max contract with the Pacers.

Siakam, 30, was traded to the Pacers in January by the Toronto Raptors, and he became a vital piece of their late-season success. He averaged 21.3 points, 7.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 31.8 minutes in 41 games with the Pacers, and he was overjoyed to be with his new organization.
“I’m so grateful and happy that I came in a place where you just feel so supported and you feel like you’re needed, you feel like you matter,” he told reporters in late May. “And as a player, that’s really all you can ask for.”
With Siakam’s contract reportedly close to being a done deal, he gets to skip free agency entirely. Since teams can now negotiate deals with their own players prior to the start of free agency, Siakam’s work is already done. Instead of stressing about the next text message from his agent, he can relax and truly enjoy the offseason.
