Former NBA Champion Viewed As Dream Fit For 2024-2025

The Milwaukee Bucks need to make some changes to the roster before the 2024-2025 season starts. Milwaukee will have some players on the trade block this offseason. Some players who could potentially get traded this offseason are Brook Lopez, Bobby Portis Jr., Pat Connaughton, and Khris Middleton.

The plan for general manager Jon Horst this offseason is for the Milwaukee Bucks to build around Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard. Milwaukee was unlucky last season because Antetokounmpo missed the entire first-round series against the Indiana Pacers and Lillard missed a couple of games against Indiana due to injury.

If there are no adjustments to the roster next season, the Milwaukee Bucks may get bounced in the first round of the NBA playoffs for the third consecutive season. They need to build a roster as best as they can to try and dethrone the Boston Celtics and win it all.

The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor Has Former NBA Champion Bruce Brown As a Dream Option For the Milwaukee Bucks

Bruce Brown won an NBA title with the Denver Nuggets during the 2022-2023 season. He will have a club option for the 2024-2025 season with the Toronto Raptors. According to The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor, he has Brown as a dream-trade option scenario for the Milwaukee Bucks.

O’Connor said:

“Brown is a super versatile defender, a tone-setter, a rebounder, and a scrappy do-it-all maestro on offense. Every team should want Bruce Brown. There are rumblings that the Bucks would like to play a more versatile style of defense next season, which raises the question of whether Brook Lopez has a future there. Trading Brook Lopez for Brown is a perfect match of salaries, and then the Raptors could flip Lopez elsewhere. The amount of screening and cutting Brown could do in support of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard would be glorious to watch.”

Bruce Brown is only 27 years old and it would fit the bill of the Milwaukee Bucks getting younger. Last season, Brown played in 67 games and averaged 10.8 PPG, 4.2 RPG, 2.9 APG, 0.3 BPG, and 0.9 SPG. He shot 47.8% from the field, 32.3% from three-point land, and also shot 82.4% from the free-throw line.Apr 7, 2024; Toronto, Ontario, CAN; Toronto Raptors guard Bruce Brown (11) goes to shoot a basket during warm up before a game against the Washington Wizards at Scotiabank Arena. Kevin O’Connor also said:

“League sources expect the Raptors to pick up Brown’s option this summer and then look to trade him, which comes as no surprise considering he will be 28 next season and the Raptors are rebuilding.”

The Toronto Raptors have until June 29 to exercise an option on the $23 million he is owed next season. His current contract is a 2-year deal worth $45 million, according to Spotrac. Doug Smith of thestar.com said on May 17:

“The sense from a handful of league sources is that the Raptors are likely to pick up the option, then turn around and deal Brown quickly rather than wait until the 2025 trade deadline.”

Adding Bruce Brown to the roster would be a very good deal for the Milwaukee Bucks. Brook Lopez is 36 years old and will be entering the final year of his contract.
