Five-star shooting guard Jasper Johnson back at UNC for a visit

You can add another visit to the UNC basketball recruiting calendar.

After two players already set official visits for the month of September, North Carolina will host another recruit on campus. But this time, it’s right away.

Five-star shooting guard Jasper Johnson is on North Carolina’s campus Wednesday per Inside Carolina’s Sherrell McMillan. Johnson’s family confirmed that the recruit is on campus for a visit just months after he took an official visit to Chapel Hill for the first UNC-Duke game of the year:

Jasper Johnson is making a return trip to Chapel Hill. The 6-foot-4 five-star guard in the class of 2025 will be in Chapel Hill on Wednesday, his family confirmed to Inside Carolina.

Since offering Johnson last September, the UNC staff has prioritized continuing to watch him with his Bronson (Mo.) Link Academy team and on the travel circuit with Team Thad. Johnson took an official visit to Chapel Hill in February, in conjunction with the UNC-Duke game at the Smith Center.

The 6-foot-4, 175-pound shooting guard plays at Link Academy in Missouri, the same school as current UNC players James Brown and Elliot Cadeua. He was teammates with Brown for a season at Link Academy.

With 21 offers, Johnson is drawing the attention of several big programs and has taken eight visits so far. Alabama, Auburn, Kentucky, Missouri, Illinois, Georgia Tech and West Virginia have all received a visit or will get a visit in addition to UNC.

Johnson is ranked No. 13 overall, No.  2 shooting guard and No. 1 player in the state of Missouri per the 247Sports recruiting rankings.
