Former Knicks point guard Immanuel Quickley has received his payday, signing a five-year deal with the Toronto Raptors worth $175 million, sources told SNY’s NBA Insider Ian Begley.
The deal was first reported by Shams Charania of the Athletic.
It was only a matter of time before Quickley received his big money contract after establishing himself as one of the top sixth-men in the league coming off the bench for New York.
He quickly become a fan favorite among the Madison Square Garden faithful for the spark he’d provide with his high-energy play in his limited minutes night in and night out.
New York certainly would’ve loved to keep Quickley around, but with them unwilling to meet his asking price, they decided to ship him off to Toronto along with RJ Barrett and draft picks in the OG Anunoby deal.
Quickley finally received the opportunity for the consistent minutes he deserved with the Raptors and he played well down the stretch, starting all 38 games he appeared in.
The former first-round pick averaged a strong 18.6 points, 6.8 assists, and 4.8 rebounds over that span while shooting 42 percent from the field and 40 percent from three-point land.
He’ll look to continue that success running the point in Toronto next season and beyond.
