SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Domantas Sabonis, the NBA’s leading rebounder, will be unavailable for an undetermined period following a left hamstring strain he sustained during the Sacramento Kings’ win over Houston on Saturday night.
On Sunday, the Kings announced that Sabonis has been diagnosed with a grade 1 strain and will provide an update on his condition in a week’s time.
The injury occurred just a minute into the game when Sabonis abruptly stopped while sprinting down the court and clutched his left hamstring. This season, he has been averaging 19.5 points, 14.1 rebounds, and 6.2 assists across 56 games.
