Giannis Antetokounmpo reflected on the 2022 NBA All-Star Game and the encounter he had with Michael Jordan during the halftime celebration for the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Team.
While he had previously stated that it was his first meeting with the legendary player, he offered new insights into their exchange this time around.
“I believe he recognized who I was, but as a 27-year-old from Greece, I wasn’t certain if he still kept up with basketball. Does he even know what I’ve been doing? However, when he looked at me and said, ‘The way you compete is truly inspiring…’” Antetokounmpo remembered, according to Thanalysis Show.
He underscored the significance of that encounter for him.
“That moment was incredibly important to me, and if we never cross paths again, that’s perfectly fine. I truly value that experience,” Giannis concluded.
