The Minnesota Timberwolves and Golden State Warriors are currently even at 1-1 following two semifinal clashes in the Western Conference held in Minneapolis.
After suffering a defeat in the opening game, the Timberwolves responded strongly with a decisive 117-93 victory against the Warriors, who played without the injured Steph Curry.
Minnesota faced a moment of concern when Anthony Edwards had to be assisted off the court halfway through the second quarter. Fortunately for the Timberwolves, he returned to action in the second half, concluding the match with 20 points, nine rebounds, and five assists.
Julius Randle was the standout performer for the Timberwolves, scoring 24 points and grabbing 11 rebounds, while Canadian guard Nickeil Alexander-Walker added 20 points as a key contributor off the bench.
Although French center Rudy Gobert did not have an impressive outing, finishing with five points and nine rebounds over 27 minutes on the floor, his contributions were not heavily relied upon as Minnesota maintained control for most of the contest.
On the opposing side, Jonathan Kuminga scored 18 points, Jimmy Butler contributed 17, and Draymond Green picked up his fifth technical foul of the playoffs, putting him just two away from a suspension. Curry is anticipated to miss at least one more game and may be out for up to a week.
