The Denver Nuggets secured victory in the first game of the series, seizing home-court advantage from the Oklahoma City Thunder—only to relinquish it again in Game 4.
Oklahoma City triumphed over the Nuggets in their second matchup at Ball Arena, edging them out 92–87 and leveling the series at 2–2 before it shifts back to Oklahoma for Game 5.
The contest began with both sides finding it difficult to score, culminating in a notable first quarter that recorded the lowest combined points in NBA playoff history, with Oklahoma holding a 17–8 lead after the initial 12 minutes.
Nevertheless, Nikola Jokić spearheaded Denver’s resurgence as they took the lead in the third quarter. It appeared they had retaken control, but the Thunder mounted a strong comeback in the fourth quarter and never faltered. Jokić made efforts to rally his team, and Aaron Gordon stepped up in the closing moments, hitting a three-pointer that narrowed the gap to 87–90. However, it was too late—Jalen Williams clinched the game for Oklahoma City with two free throws on the ensuing possession.
MVP contender Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was the standout for the Thunder, contributing 25 points, six rebounds, and six assists. Aaron Wiggins and Cason Wallace each added 11 points, while Alex Caruso and Jalen Williams chipped in with 10 points apiece. Chet Holmgren and German international Isaiah Hartenstein finished with eight points each, collectively securing 27 rebounds.
Despite facing Oklahoma City’s tough and assertive defense, Jokić managed to score 27 points—all after the first quarter—along with 13 rebounds, four steals, three assists, and two turnovers. However, it fell short of securing a win.
Jamal Murray and Christian Braun both contributed 17 points, while Gordon recorded 15 points and 16 rebounds. The remainder of the Nuggets’ roster accounted for only 11 points total.
