Anthony Edwards delivered an impressive performance for the Timberwolves, scoring 30 points, grabbing nine rebounds, and providing six assists over three quarters during a decisive 143-101 victory in Game 3, which narrowed the Thunder’s series lead to 2-1.
“Pressure on the ball was key for us,” Edwards stated. “I focused on shooting whenever I could.”
Julius Randle contributed 24 points, while rookie Terrence Shannon Jr. made a significant impact off the bench with 15 points in just 13 minutes for the Wolves.
Rudy Gobert, the French center, chipped in with seven points and seven rebounds. On the opposing side, German center Isaiah Hartenstein recorded six points and the same number of rebounds.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander struggled, finishing with only 14 points on 4-of-13 shooting and committing four turnovers. He was substituted out while the team trailed by 38 points with 4:25 remaining in the third quarter, signaling an early acceptance of defeat by OKC.
“It felt like we settled into the game too slowly, while they came out strong,” Gilgeous-Alexander remarked. “They put us under pressure from the beginning and we couldn’t recover.”
