LeBron James plans to exercise a player option in his contract, allowing him to continue with the Los Angeles Lakers for the 2025-26 season.
This option is valued at significantly more than $50 million.

Drafted first overall in 2003, James began his professional career with the Cleveland Cavaliers before becoming an unrestricted free agent and joining the Miami Heat in 2010. After winning two championships with Miami, he returned to the Cavs in 2014, where he secured his third title in 2016. Since joining the Lakers in 2018, he has celebrated a fourth championship in 2020.
