Paul George: Giannis Antetokounmpos Loyalty to Milwaukee Reflects Legacy of International Superstars

As the offseason progresses, the prospects for Giannis Antetokounmpo remain ambiguous. The 30-year-old star is weighing his options, seemingly searching for the optimal scenario to secure a second NBA championship.

On a recent episode of Podcast P, Paul George and Carmelo Anthony addressed the swirling speculations surrounding the Greek Freak.

“I perceive Giannis as part of an older generation that prefers to remain in Milwaukee for his entire career. I don’t envision him wanting to chase a new destination,” the 35-year-old George remarked, countering contrary opinions from outside.

He continued, “This tendency is particularly evident among international players, who often stick with the teams that drafted them. They come from different backgrounds; arriving in America means being treated like royalty. It’s about providing for their families and establishing a home. He’s won a championship here, so for him, it’s tied to his legacy in Milwaukee.”

“I genuinely believe he has no desire to leave,” he concluded, emphasizing his thoughts on the international star.

George, since completing his tenure at Fresno State and being chosen as the 10th pick in the 2010 draft, has played for the Indiana Pacers, Oklahoma City Thunder, Los Angeles Clippers, and Philadelphia 76ers.

In stark contrast, Antetokounmpo, who hails from Athens, was selected by the Bucks in 2013 and has remained dedicated to the organization over the past 12 years, culminating in a championship victory in 2021.
