In Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals, the Minnesota Timberwolves decisively overwhelmed the Oklahoma City Thunder, securing a dominant 143-101 victory on their home court.
Having claimed the first two games of the series, Oklahoma City aimed to regroup and inch closer to the NBA Finals with just one additional win needed. They accomplished this goal with a thrilling 128-126 triumph, powered by an outstanding performance from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. The Regular Season MVP nearly achieved a triple-double, finishing with almost 40 points, 10 assists, and 9 rebounds.
Additionally, Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren made significant contributions to the Thunder’s success, with Williams scoring 34 points and providing 5 assists, while Holmgren added 21 points and 7 rebounds.
On the Timberwolves’ side, Nickeil Alexander-Walker led the scoring off the bench with 23 points and 6 assists, while Jaden McDaniels contributed 22 points and 4 steals. Anthony Edwards, however, had a quieter night, putting up 16 points with a shooting performance of 5 for 13. He noted, “They outplayed us, outrebounded us, and won more of the 50-50 balls. [They] showed a greater desire.”
