Giannis Antetokounmpo Weighs Future Options Amid Trade Rumors and Upcoming Family Reunion in Europe

Giannis Antetokounmpo is still ‘navigating his situation,’ as reported by NBA insider Shams Charania.

Consequently, the future of the 30-year-old Greek phenom remains uncertain, particularly with swirling rumors about his potential desire to request a trade from the Milwaukee Bucks.

In a segment on The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday, Charania also validated recent news regarding a planned meeting between Giannis and the Bucks’ management that has been postponed, while the former NBA champion evaluates his options.

“Giannis Antetokounmpo is currently in the process of figuring things out. I’ve learned that he has yet to hold that meeting with the Bucks,” said @ShamsCharania on #PMSLive.

In addition to reconnecting with family, his offseason plans are expected to include participation in EuroBasket 2025, with Greece’s senior national team coach Vassilis Spanoulis confirming his involvement in the prestigious international tournament set for February.

Discussions with the Bucks will likely center around his ambitions for a second NBA championship, assessing whether he can pursue those goals in Milwaukee or find opportunities elsewhere.

Having established himself as the franchise’s cornerstone and earning Most Valuable Player honors in both the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons, the Athens native led the Bucks to an NBA title in 2021, earning the MVP of the Finals. However, he has faced disappointing exits in the postseason during the past three years, including a defeat in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.

Giannis has shown unwavering loyalty to the Wisconsin team since being selected as the 15th overall pick in the 2013 draft.
