Zion Williamson Accused of Rape and Abuse by Former Girlfriend in Disturbing Lawsuit

Zion Williamson, the star of the New Orleans Pelicans, is reportedly facing allegations of rape and physical abuse from an ex-girlfriend, as reported by the Daily Mail.

According to the Daily Mail, they have obtained a legal complaint filed by a “Jane Doe,” who claims to have been in a relationship with Williamson. The lawsuit reportedly includes two allegations of rape and describes a pattern of “abusive, controlling, and threatening behavior” toward the plaintiff.

The complainant states that her relationship with Williamson began in 2018 while he was playing for Duke University and continued for five years until 2023. She alleges that he subjected her to “sexual, physical, emotional, and financial” abuse, claiming instances where he would “choke or smother her,” leaving her fearful for her life.

In addition to other accusations, Williamson is also alleged to have made threats against her life and the safety of her family.

Sam Taylor, the attorney representing Jane Doe from the Lanier Law Firm, commented to the Daily Mail, stating, “We and our client are not looking to try this case in the media. However, I can emphasize that this is an extremely serious matter, as detailed in the complaint filed in Los Angeles County. Our client is eager for the opportunity to present her case before a jury of her peers and seek justice.”

Williamson, who was the first overall pick in the 2019 Draft, completed his fifth season with the Pelicans in the 2024-25 season.
