New Headline: Celtics Eye Giannis Antetokounmpo Trade as Bucks Look to Rebuild After Disappointing Playoffs

After another challenging season in Milwaukee, this summer may prove pivotal for Giannis Antetokounmpo’s future, as he might be contemplating a move.

It’s evident that any team looking to trade for one of the NBA’s elite players must be a championship contender, which positions the Boston Celtics as a potential candidate.

ESPN’s Brian Windhorst has indicated that the Celtics are among the teams that could feasibly make a bid for Giannis Antetokounmpo, should the situation arise.

“I believe you should consider the teams that the Bucks would be willing to accept a trade from, and those must be contending teams. Thus, Boston makes that list. I would also include New York,” he stated.

He went on to mention the complexities related to salary caps and the stipulations surrounding teams in the upper tiers when attempting to negotiate trades. Still, he pointed out that certain teams in the Eastern Conference could find a way to facilitate this transaction, as discussed on ESPN’s Get Up.

The Milwaukee Bucks have struggled to advance past the First Round of the NBA Playoffs since 2022. This past season, Giannis Antetokounmpo ranked 2nd in the league with an impressive average of 30.4 points per game and was 6th in rebounding, pulling down 11.9 boards per game.
