Barkley Critiques Giannis Championship Entitlement Amid Bucks Support: Theyve Done Everything Possible

During a recent segment on ESPN’s Inside the NBA, Charles Barkley shared his thoughts on the evolving relationship between Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks.

With the 30-year-old star forward hinting at the possibility of exploring other options after the 2025-26 season, the 62-year-old Barkley rejected this mindset.

“A great player should believe in their own abilities, thinking, ‘I’m a fantastic player. With some support, we will succeed.’ The Milwaukee Bucks deserve credit for their commitment. I wish someone cared about me as much as the Bucks care for Giannis. They’ve gone out and acquired Dame Lillard and Myles Turner. They’ve done everything within their power to help the team regain its former glory. So, the idea that he thinks they aren’t doing enough? That’s just not true. I genuinely want someone to love me like the Bucks love Giannis. I mean it,” Barkley said.

He continued, “It’s unfortunate that he feels entitled to win a championship every year. Everyone wants to be a champion, but the Bucks have exhausted all their resources. Hearing him think, ‘If we don’t win a title this year, I’m out,’ is disheartening to me. I dislike that sentiment.”

Giannis is set to embark on his 13th season in the NBA and has remained dedicated to the Bucks since they selected him 15th overall in the 2013 draft.
