INDIANAPOLIS (AP)—Tyrese Haliburton delivered an extraordinary postseason performance with 32 points, 15 assists, and 12 rebounds, all without committing a single turnover, propelling the Indiana Pacers to a 130-121 victory over the New York Knicks on Tuesday night. This win gave Indiana a commanding 3-1 lead in the Eastern Conference finals.
With his father, John, present at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, Haliburton put the Pacers just one step away from their second appearance in the NBA Finals. The pivotal Game 5 is set for Thursday in New York.
Pascal Siakam contributed 30 points, while Haliburton also recorded four steals in his second career postseason triple-double. Notably, this marked the first playoff triple-double in NBA history featuring at least 30 points, 15 assists, and 10 rebounds without any turnovers. Obi Toppin’s 3-pointer in the final minute secured the win for Indiana.
The Pacers have not suffered back-to-back losses since March 10.
Jalen Brunson led the Knicks with 31 points, while Karl-Anthony Towns and OG Anunoby added 24 points and 12 rebounds and 22 points, respectively. However, New York was unable to recover from yet another double-digit deficit.
This game also marked the first occasion in the series where the home side emerged victorious.
The stands were filled with nearly a dozen former Pacers stars, including Jermaine O’Neal and Lance Stephenson, in addition to Haliburton’s father. The crowd was further enlivened by the presence of WWE Hall of Famer Triple H, rappers 50 Cent and Rob 49, and musicians Jelly Roll and John Mellencamp.
John Haliburton had been watching the Pacers’ previous eight playoff games from a distance after an incident where he confronted Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo following his son’s dramatic last-second shot that eliminated Milwaukee in the first round. The Pacers allowed him to return for Game 4, where he watched from a suite.
“I’m really happy Dad could be here. It makes this victory feel even sweeter,” said Tyrese Haliburton during his postgame interview.
The Knicks had their own contingent of fans, including filmmaker Spike Lee and actors Timothée Chalamet and Ben Stiller.
What unfolded was one of the most thrilling matches of the 2025 NBA postseason. Both teams were shooting impressively, hitting around 70% well into the first quarter, leading to a 43-35 advantage for the Pacers. New York rallied back in the second quarter, temporarily taking the lead three times, the last being at 64-63.
However, Haliburton spearheaded a 6-0 run for Indiana to close the half at 69-64, finishing just two rebounds shy of a triple-double.
The Pacers then came out strong in the second half, initiating a 9-2 run and wrapping up the quarter with a 9-4 spurt that pushed their lead to 102-91. Siakam capped off an early fourth-quarter 9-3 run by scoring the last five points, bringing Indiana ahead 111-96.
New York managed to narrow the gap to six on three occasions in the final moments, but Towns was sidelined with an injury to his left knee with 2:11 left to play, ultimately finishing the game.
